Wax Chandlers Hall :: Visitors' Map of London :: A-Z Maps

Wax Chandlers Hall

The historic Worshipful Company of Wax Chandlers has had a Hall on this site since 1501, it was destroyed both by the Great Fire of 1666 and by bombs during World War II, the current Hall dating from 1956 is the sixth.

The importance of both the Livery Company and its trade was acknowledged by Richard III when a Royal Charter was granted in 1484. Although the Wax Chandlers are no longer a trade association its concerns remain supporting charitable funds and educational grants, besides maintaining its historical traditions.
