University College London (UCL) (Bloomsbury Campus)

University College London (UCL), was founded in 1826 at a time when a University education was highly restricted and selective at Oxford and Cambridge. The UCL made history by being the first university in England to admit students of any race, class or religion, and later the first to welcome women on equal terms with men. Incorporated into the University of London in 1907.

The grand classical main building was designed by William Wilkins, designer of the National Gallery to which it has a close resemblance.
