Union Jack Club :: Visitors' Map of London :: A-Z Maps
Union Jack ClubA residential members club for serving and ex-serving military personnel of Her Majesty's Armed Forces and their families. Opened in 1907 so that ordinary servicemen and their families should have somewhere decent and affordable in central London to stay. Its original Waterloo Road location was an elaborate Edwardian brick building that made an important base for troops during both World Wars. Its much needed modern replacement dates from the 1970s.
Military personnel of many countries, together with the emergency services such as police, fire and ambulance, including the UK civil service are also welcome.
