Supreme Court :: Visitors' Map of London :: A-Z Maps
Supreme CourtThis imposing neo-gothic building of 1913 designed by James Gibson, stands on what was once the western edge of Thorney Island and originally part of the sanctuary grounds of Westminster Abbey.
Built for Middlesex County Council, (despite the fact that Westminster was not in Middlesex), and the Middlesex Quarter Sessions and later used as a Crown Court centre. Closed 2007 in order to convert it for use as the home of the new Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.
