Shoreditch Town Hall

Impressive stone neo baroque Town hall opened 1907 to replace its predecessor destroyed by fire. Following local government reorganisation in 1965 Shoreditch became part of the Borough of Hackney, and since 1996 has been beautifully restored by the Shoreditch Town Hall Trust. It now functions as an important social asset hosting a whole range of events, including exhibitions, business meetings, film shoots, weddings, private parties, and other cultural activities.

Since re-opening in 2004, Shoreditch Town Hall has established itself as the venue of choice for a whole range of events, from star-studded galas and internationally acclaimed art exhibitions to small meetings, film shoots, community events, weddings, private parties, design shows, cultural activities, receptions and launches

From its earliest days, Shoreditch Town Hall was at the centre of community life, providing an essential social hub as well as managing all the parish business. Nowadays, the local government business has moved elsewhere, but Shoreditch Town Hall Trust, a registered charity, has restored the building and continues to run it as a venue for the benefit of the local and wider communities, ensuring that it continues to shine brightly at the heart of Shoreditch.
