Queen's Chapel

Designed by Inigo Jones 1623-27 as a Catholic Chapel for Henrietta Maria of France, Charles the First's Queen. Its interior features a wooden coffered ceiling, Carolean panelling and Royal pews, and includes work by both Grinling Gibbons and Christopher Wren.

The Chapel was used by Henrietta Maria until the outbreak of the Civil War. The coffins of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and Princess Margaret both lay-in-state here.
