London's Roman Amphitheatre

A dramatic exhibition displaying the remains of the Roman Amphitheatre first discovered in 1988, and relocated within the new Guildhall Art Gallery for their preservation and display.

When short stretches of Roman wall were observed during archaeological investigations across the Guildhall Courtyard the remains became instantly famous and the site became a protected monument, they revealed the location of Roman Londinium's amphitheatre, capable of seating 6000 for wild animal shows, public executions or gladiator displays.
