BBC Broadcasting HouseThis famous landmark art deco building style was completed in 1932, its exterior features statues by Eric Gill - Shakespearian characters Prospero and Ariel while a stylish radio theatre occupies the core of the building which is often used for popular audience participation radio broadcasts.
It houses the headquarters offices and the sound division of the British Broadcasting Corporation. Since its incorporation in 1977, the BBC has grown into one of the world's most professional and respected broadcasting services. BBC Television Centre is at Wood Lane, W12 and external services are at Bush House, Strand, WC2.
Once completed, all BBC news - TV and Radio and World Service will be grouped together in modern extension. A memorial to commemorate journalists killed while working was unveiled on the roof in 2008, its glass column projects a beam of light into the night sky daily at 10 pm.
