Windows based Pocket PCs are small handheld devices with colour, touch-sensitive screens and a stylus to control the menus. You can synchronise with your Office PC to keep an up to date copy of your contacts and emails and even use many of your office documents on the move. There are many applications available that will allow you to use your Pocket PC to record notes, manage photographs, play games, listen to music and access the Internet, intranets or extranets via Wi-Fi, or Wireless Wide-Area Networks (WWANs).

The Windows Mobile Phone Edition Pocket PC’s also function as a standard mobile phone, so you don’t need to carry two separate devices. Many Phone Edition devices include a full keyboard to allow quick text entry for emails or SMS messages.

There are three series of A-Z mapping available for Pocket PCs:

Pocket A-Z

The Pocket A-Z downloadable range of mapping allows you to access your A-Z maps as soon as you have purchased them from our website. With many town and city centre maps to choose from, a useful library of maps can be stored easily and quickly. Pocket A-Z will also allow the connection of a GPS receiver, allowing the map to move as you travel and select the best map available for the current area.

Memory-Map

The Memory-Map range is supplied on a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. These discs each cover a much larger area of a particular city. The addition of multiple map levels ranging from large scale city centre mapping, through detailed street level, GB Road maps and UK Planner map on each CD gives this product immense versatility. GPS receivers can also be connected to show your current location and record your route as you travel. You will need a Windows PC to load the software from disc and then transfer to your Pocket PC.

Anquet Maps

A large range of A-Z mapping is now available for use with Anquet software. Anquet Maps develops route planning software and digital maps for PC and Personal Navigation Devices (PND) such as Pocket PCs and Smartphones. Its software also programs routes and waypoints into GPS units. You will need a Windows PC to load the software and then transfer to your Pocket PC.
