Novello Theatre

This large 1000 seat venue opened in 1905 as the Waldorf, one of a pair of theatres together with the Aldwych on either side of the Waldorf hotel, though from 1909 called the Strand Theatre. After extensive refurbishment of its fine Louis XIV style interiors it was renamed the Novello Theatre in 2005, to commemorate Ivor Novello who lived in a flat above the theatre for over 30 years.
