Chelsea College of Art & Design
Chelsea is part of a three-college partnership with Camberwell College of Arts and Wimbledon College of Art within the University of the Arts London. It has an acknowledged international reputation both Fine Art and in Design, many distinguished artists have studied and taught here.
Beginning as a faculty of The South-Western Polytechnic which opened in 1895, Chelsea School of Art came into being in 1964 becoming subsequently Chelsea College of Art and Design in January 1986. Its purpose-built premises were in Manresa Road until the 2005 relocation to the present site at Millbank - next to Tate Britain. The former Royal Army Medical College was renovated and modern linking sections created to provides a purpose built art college.
