Vintners Hall

The historic Vintner' Company Livery Hall has stood on this site since 1446, though the medieval hall was burnt down in the Great Fire of London, rebuilding began almost immediately and the its replacement was opened in 1671.

The Archives of the Company are remarkably complete and mostly on deposit at Guildhall Library, its first Charter is dated 1363.

As one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies its origins are steeped in the history of the City of London, and the import, regulation and sale of wine, which in medieval times was of great economic importance.

The Company continues to maintain strong links with the UK Wine Trade, and is committed to pursuing many social, charitable and educational interests.
