Tower Bridge, one of the sights of London, with its dramatic twin towers and drawbridge roadway is one of London's famous visual landmarks (sometimes confused in name with London Bridge); built 1886-94, in Victorian Gothic style to designs by Horace Jones and John Barry. The two draw-bridges open to allow the passage of large ships, a bell rings before the bridge opens, halting all traffic.
