Shakespeare's Globe Theatre & Exhibition
This reconstructed 1599 Globe Theatre, is the first thatched building to be built in the centre of London since the Great Fire 1666. Theatre Tour and Exhibition devoted to Shakespeare and the London in which he worked and lived is open throughout the year, summer season of plays in the open air Globe Theatre.
Shakespeare's Globe was founded by the American actor and director Sam Wanamaker and completed in 1997. It is a unique international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare's work and the playhouse for which he wrote, through the connected means of performance and education.
