St Katharine Docks & Yacht Haven
This, one of London's first free trade docks, was built in 1827 on the site of the former Hospital of St Katharine which dated back to the 10th century. Its massive and secure warehouses designed by Thomas Telford were the first such to be built in London for storing valuable cargoes from all over the world. There are now restaurants and a shopping mall, the whole complex is finished with cobbled promenades and period detailing, and focuses on a 240 mooring yacht haven.
