Old Operating Theatre Museum

This is an original Victorian operating theatre and Herb Garret linked to St Thomas's Hospital. It dates from 1822, a period when surgeons had no recourse to anaesthetics and depended on swift technique, exhibits include surgical instruments and apparatus illustrating early medical history, also the history of St Thomas's and Guy's Hospitals. The Herb garret was used by the St Thomas's Apothecary to store and cure herbs.
