The museum has a nationally important collection of Judaica (Jewish ceremonial art), and extensive collections exploring Jewish social history in Britain and beyond, from medieval times to the present day. Objects, photographs, documents and oral history interviews reflect the diverse roots and everyday life of Jewish people, with particular strengths in the history of the Jewish East End including a complete recreation of a Jewish street. Also the experiences of Jewish refugees and Holocaust survivors.
