Converted 1948 to the headquarters of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners, a City of London Livery Company and today serves as part floating museum, library as well as being a unique conference and dining venue.
A Grimsby class sloop built in 1934, HMS Wellington served in the Pacific mainly on station in New Zealand and China before the Second World War. During the war, she was engaged primarily in the North Atlantic on convoy escort duties and the evacuation of troops from Dunkirk.
Made available by the Admiralty in 1947 since when she has been moored on the Thames. The concerns of The Honourable Company of Master Mariners formed in 1926 are, professional standards, education and charitable giving.
