St Nicholas Church
St Nicholas Cole Abbey is a Christopher Wren church of 1671-81 replacing the medieval building destroyed in the Great Fire, in its turn destroyed by World War II bombing 1941, since restored. Its square tower and lead spire carry a ship weathervane from St Michael Queenhithe demolished 1875. All the 17th century woodwork is garnered from other redundant churches including the pulpit, font cover and panelled walls.
To be developed as a National Centre for Religious education.
