This historic church rebuilt by James Gibbs 1721-61 is famous as a landmark in Trafalgar Square with its imposing Corinthian portico, steps and spire. Its interior features include a font of 1689 from the previous church, Royal box and Admiralty pews, both Buckingham Palace and Admiralty being within the parish, There are memorials to many of those buried here including Chippendale, John Hunter and Nell Gwyn. Francis Bacon, John Hampden and Charles II were baptised here. Famous for both its work with the homeless and for its lively concert programme.
